We had our interhouse gala on the 21st of February 2020. I was so excited to see how our junior grades filled the pool, having full lanes for races. These learners really gave their best. David Brown had to help one of the boys out of the pool as it seemed that he was struggling to come up, he sat down for a few minutes, got back up, said he was fine and wanted to race again. That to me was the highlight of the day, seeing this learner showing guts and not giving up.
The results for the day:
1st : Struben
2nd : Adamson
3rd : Fitzpatrick
4th : Cullinan
The 2020 swimming season started off with a bang at the annual Interhouse Gala where the junior’s grades came in their numbers and showed off their skills in the pool. The results were exciting and lay a solid foundation for the rest of the season. Unfortunately, several galas were shortened or cancelled due to summer storms but this did not dampen the spirits of the swimmers.
Chloe Solomons stepped up throughout the swimming season and was announced as the sole swimming captain for her efforts, motivation and leadership at all galas. The Interhigh gala was the highlight of the season where swimmers excelled in their individual events as well as several relay teams won their events.
As coaches, Ms Neuhoff and Ms Bosman, are extremely proud of the swimmers and hope for an even better season in 2021.
